Set on a generous block backing onto a nature reserve, this renovation transforms a 1973-built home into a sophisticated, energy-efficient sanctuary. Originally constructed for the Capezio brothers, the residence has been completely reimagined to meet contemporary living standards while respecting its architectural heritage and unique setting.

The renovation focused on opening up spaces, improving flow, and strengthening the home’s connection to its surroundings. Solar passive design principles guided the transformation, with reoriented living areas, carefully placed glazing, and upgraded insulation dramatically enhancing natural light, ventilation, and year-round comfort. High-performance glazing, a refined building envelope, and smart home integration bring the house in line with modern expectations for sustainability and efficiency.

Internally, the home underwent a full refurbishment, with reconfigured layouts that prioritise open-plan living. The kitchen, bathrooms, and living spaces were rebuilt with bespoke joinery, premium finishes, and a contemporary aesthetic, balancing practicality with elegance. Externally, the façade and landscaping were revitalised to achieve a cohesive, modern character that blends seamlessly with the adjacent reserve.

A new alfresco area was also introduced, creating a pivotal link between the house and the front pool. Designed for versatility, it offers an inviting space for entertaining or relaxation, while reinforcing the strong indoor–outdoor connection.
